They say that 'things are destined ' and this one was truly destined in Heaven !
The structure stands 7.5 feet tall, 4 feet wide and 2 feet in depth.
From the beautiful knobs with Conch pattern we had been searching for years, the crevice which appeared out of the teakwood layering at the kalash level which naturally gave a 15 running feet of light space ... considering the detailing and time taken to craft this , we had started getting the sense that this was going to be one of the rare times when we miss our deadlines, however some divine intervention and actually our 7 step finishing rigor happened quite fast - God simply did not let us down on this one and it seemed that there was a supernatural force helping create this to Zenith and perfection !
As responsible creators, we used reclaimed teakwood here handcrafting the whole structure in 3 different parts , the storage, the Alaya and the Shikhar - all 3 in a simple, easy to assemble format since this was being shipped to its abode in South Goa. The bottom portion has shelves on either side with a central section on drawers . Care has been taken to keep shelves a bit short , sufficient to hold a tall Ghee bottle also if needed. The top drawer has a semi top of toughened glass, which can be pulled out to keep lit diya, incense, dhoop without the worry of wood getting stained . We did jaali work but kept it minimal and subtle for a reason. the richly polished beautiful wall behind has 5 shelves for mounting smaller statues . The kalasha on the top is stepped up however kept as subtle as possible. The entire temple is kept edgeless with rounding done everywhere making it Adults kids and pet friendly- God's Closest! . We have used mouldings and then reverse mouldings through out the temple . even the portion where the door frame is joined with the door facia, we used mouldings to give that necessary gradient .
The Temple overall is Organic and Gradual, A natural habitat of the Gods !
