Brief: International designs, ergonomically sound, logical, and minimal maintenance.

Situated in a very heavy rainfall area, it was important to select a medium that is rot-free, termite-resistant, and long-lasting.

Simple, earthly, minimalistic, logical & sturdy to support large families/gatherings over generations. Products made to blend as part of family heirloom decades later. Teakwood served the brief with its almost immortal nature.

Apartment in Lower Parel

This was a project done during COVID-19 and perhaps the most challenging in terms of logistics, compromised workforce, short supply of material, high overheads, delayed permissions, delays, and cost overruns.

Contemporary furniture and outlook for the kid’s room (colourful, in ply+laminate-hence not attaching pics) and a distinctly rich Rusteak-styled look for the Master and living. Extensive use of Rattan Glass and hard shades of PU in the apartment.

Modern chic contemporary, yet tough rot resistant and maintenance free for outdoors. Hence Teakwood was the medium of choice, be it the Bar, or the large handcrafted jaali sitting. The colorful yet interesting terrace was complemented with hard shades in PU –known for its toughness and UV resistance. Home interiors included complete teakwood flooring, wooden paneling, and products suiting the occupants – modern subtle for the young and defined Grain finish for the /not so young. Subtle edgeless designs keeping in view the principal occupants- a kid and lots of pets!

Client – A mid-level executive with an acquired taste

Here the problem presented an opportunity! New building with signs of dampness and unplanned beams – the walls are completely wood paneled to camouflage, give spatial coherence, and a medieval look by arching the passage area.
