The living room entrance, the passageway leading to the living room, and substantial wall sections give a defining character to the home. Therefore, placing artifacts, products, and furniture with a certain exuberance and spatial nature helps build up the persona. Srajna, the console, was thus conceptualized. Serving the simple utility of decluttered holding for entry/exit documents, memorabilia, and items that cannot be hung, Srajna was dimensioned to rest an elbow, provide space for writing, or enable limited tablet/iPad-based interaction at the entrance. It performs varied functions instead of just being a decorative console.
Srajna is not just a showpiece, but a utilitarian, elegant piece of furniture. Thoughtfully supported by a teakwood balance frame, which also serves as a leg rest, it is carefully crafted from the best pieces of teakwood for the tabletop. The legs are reinforced with double-tiered joinery, and when complemented by the bottom support, make this tall console sturdy. Two thoughtfully added soft-closing drawers, with about 5" of height, provide ample space for storing items. Its rounded edges and soft finishes give it a neat look, making it safe for the elderly, kids, and pets.
This is a showstopper!
